We are delighted to welcome you to our gorgeous luxury holiday home rental in Canterbury. Situated in a quiet lane but only a 4 minute stroll from the historic city centre. St Edmunds Cottage, built in the 1800’s still retains much of its charm and character. With stripped wooden floorboards, warm wool carpets, fireplaces and large sash windows throughout filling the entire cottage with sunlight.
St Edmunds cottage boasts a stylish and contemporary interior. Decorated with English heritage colours throughout and finished to a high standard with quality furnishings and local artwork. The cottage is centrally heated throughout and has a feature stove in the fireplace making it ideal for cosy autumn & winter rentals. The dining area features a contemporary zinc top dining table with seating for four guests. With pendant lighting above it’s the perfect spot for enjoying intimate after dark dining and conversation.
    At the far end lies the stylish comfy seating area, complete with Smart TV, Netflix and fireplace with cosy stove. Here large French doors open onto the charming and private courtyard garden; a tranquil haven and a real bonus for our wonderful holiday home rental in Canterbury.

    Our stunning holiday home has a modern, fully equipped kitchen Here guests will find all that they need to prepare wonderful meals after shopping for fresh local produce at one of Canterbury’s specialty food shops. The sunny kitchen comes complete with eye level electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, Nespresso coffee maker and fridge with ice box. Of course it goes without saying that there are a plethora of excellent cafes and restaurants within a short walk of st Edmunds cottage.

    Back into the lounge the antique iron spiral staircase leads up to the first floor where the morning sun streams through large picture windows.
    Here guests will find two gorgeous bedrooms, one with kingsize bed and the other with twin beds.

    FREE PARKING Guests staying in st Edmunds cottage are able to unload outside the property – in a quiet no through street. We then offer our guests free parking (if required) in the nearby large car parks which are just 2 & 4 minutes walk from the cottage. Please note that this must be arranged and confirmed with us at least 2 days prior to your arrival.

    The magnificent cathedral is one of Europe’s finest, with concerts, exhibitions, talks and walking tours going on throughout the year. And a stay in Canterbury would be complete without visiting Chaucer’s world famous Tales – of medieval misadventure at one of Canterbury’s most popular attractions.

    The spring and summer sees Canterbury’s many green spaces come to life. Stroll the riverside foot paths, picnic in the parks and gardens and go punting on the river Stour; where you can relax and enjoy a cold Pimms whilst you learn about the historic city and waterways from your boating chauffeur.

    Within a short walk guests will find a huge choice of venues for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These include The Naughty Egg for breakfast, the Saffron Café for lunch and The Ambrette for an unforgettable evening meal.

    Getting here

    No need to bring your car! There are two train stations in Canterbury – Canterbury East (7 minutes walk to the cottage) for trains to and from London Victoria and Dover priory. Canterbury West (13 minutes walk) for trains to and from London Charing Cross, London st Pancras and Ashford international. For arrivals by coach or bus, Canterbury bus station is an 8 minute walk to st Edmunds cottage.

    Canterbury a city for all seasons

    During the autumn and winter months Canterbury remains vibrant and welcoming. Stroll the cobbles streets exploring the many interesting shops, museums and galleries. Then dive into a cosy café to warm up with a gallon of hot chocolate. In the evening dine out at one of Canterbury’s great restaurants or cosy pubs and maybe take in a show at the fabulous Marlowe theatre.
    Canterbury’s wonderful array of shops makes it the perfect destination to indulge in some retail therapy. From the big high street chains at the the Whitefriars shopping centre to the small specialist shops of the Kings Mile, Canterbury has it all!
    In December Christmas lights turn the streets into a fairy land. Soak up the season atmosphere at the Christmas markets and sample seasonal produce whilst you shop for that perfect gift.

Take a day trip – car or bus is 20 minutes – to wonderful Whitstable, which has many interesting shops, buildings and seafood restaurants.     Children & Pets

    Children are welcome at st Edmunds cottage however, parents must be aware that there is an open spiral staircase to the first floor. A travel cot and high chair can be provided free of charge. PETS. We are very sorry but we do not accept pets at st Edmunds cottage.
