We are delighted to welcome you to our gorgeous luxury holiday home rental in Canterbury. Situated in a quiet lane but only a 4 minute stroll from the historic city centre. St Edmunds Cottage, built in the 1800’s still retains much of its charm and character. With stripped wooden floorboards, warm wool carpets, fireplaces and large sash windows throughout filling the entire cottage with sunlight.
St Edmunds cottage boats a stylish and contemporary interior. Decorated with English heritage colours throughout and finished to a high standard with quality furnishings and local artwork. The cottage is centrally heated throughout and has a feature stove in the fireplace making it ideal for cosy autumn & winter rentals. Stylish holiday home rental Canterbury
Step in through the front door into a bright and spacious living/dining room Spanning the entire front of the cottage. The dining area features a contemporary zinc top dining table with seating for four guests. With pendant lighting above it’s the perfect spot for enjoying intimate after dark dining and conversation.
At the far end lies the stylish comfy seating area, complete with Smart TV, Netflix and fireplace with cosy stove. Here large French doors open onto the charming and private courtyard garden; a tranquil haven and a real bonus for our wonderful holiday home rental in Canterbury.
Also on the ground floor there is a modern, fully equipped kitchen complete with full electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, Nespresso coffee maker and fridge with ice box. Here our guests will find all that they need to prepare wonderful meals after shopping for fresh local produce at one of Canterbury’s many specialty food shops. Of course it goes without saying that there are a plethora of excellent cafes and restaurants within a short walk of st Edmunds cottage.
Next to the kitchen there is a sleek modern shower room with double sized walk-in shower with rainfall shower head.

Back into the lounge the antique iron spiral staircase leads up to the first floor where the morning sun streams through large picture windows.

Courtyard garden – a green retreat in Canterbury city centre!
There is one more room to mention here – our wonderful courtyard garden. Open up the French doors and this lovely space instantly become part of the lounge. It’s a haven of green tranquility to enjoy your morning coffee or a cool glass of wine after a day of exploring all that Canterbury has to offer.
FREE PARKING Guests staying in st Edmunds cottage are able to unload in St Edmunds road – a quiet no through street. We then offer our guests free parking (if required) in the nearby large car parks which are just 2 & 4 minutes walk from the cottage. Please note that this must be arranged and confirmed with us at least 2 days prior to your arrival.
EATING OUT IN CANTERBURY
Canterbury is teeming with excellent restaurants, cafes and great pubs. Our nearest coffee house, Coffee Curiosity, is only a few minutes walk in Tannery Square, which serves artisan coffee, specialty teas, homemade cakes and freshly baked patisserie; focusing on locally sourced ingredients.
Within a short walk guests will find a huge choice of venues for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These include The Naughty Egg for a hearty breakfast, the Saffron Café for a long lazy lunch and The Ambrette for an unforgettable evening meal.

For guests wanting to leave the car at home there are a number of transport options. There are two train stations in Canterbury – Canterbury East (7 minutes walk to the cottage) for trains to and from London Victoria and Dover priory. Canterbury West (13 minutes walk) for trains to and from London Charing Cross, London st Pancras and Ashford international.
For arrivals by coach or bus, Canterbury bus station is an 8 minute walk to st Edmunds cottage.

The magnificent cathedral is one of Europe’s finest, with concerts, exhibitions, talks and walking tours going on throughout the year. And a stay in Canterbury would be complete without visiting Chaucer’s world famous Tales – of medieval misadventure at one of Canterbury’s most popular attractions.
The spring and summer sees Canterbury’s many green spaces come to life. Stroll the riverside foot paths, picnic in the parks and gardens and go punting on the river Stour; where you can relax and enjoy a cold Pimms whilst you learn about the historic city and waterways from your boating chauffeur.
